Unlike most of their ABS injection-molded plastic counterparts, the D1080's feature audiophile grade construction from the ground up: high-conductivity RCA inputs, separate tone and volume controls, and an extremely solid 10 lb. MDF enclosure (that's 20 lbs. a pair!) However…it's what lies inside this enclosure that really makes the D1080MKII special.

The D1080's utilize a specially designed long-throw 5” midbass woofer designed to deliver incredibly high-output and authority in a desktop-friendly cabinet. The D1080's large internal volume and tuned rear port, enable the long-throw 5” woofer to deliver coherent, tight, and authoritative full-range output without the need for an additional bass module crowding your desk.

And then there's the tweeter. The D1080's impressive midbass is complimented with an airy, smooth, and extended high-frequency presentation. The secret behind this detail is the elegant ferro-fluid cooled 25mm German silk-dome. Unlike that hard-edged piercing high-end you'll get from most full-range drivers used in plastic multi-media systems, the D1080's silk dome is smooth and refined.
